The finest embodiment of the modern 20-something you'll ever find, my name is Riya Jayanthi (pronounced ree-ya) and I'm a current undergraduate student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill currently studying Media and Journalism and Global Environmental and Public Health. I am haplessly fascinated by entertainment, multimedia, and fashion, but equally as interested in health equality, informatics, and patient care stemming from a long and difficult struggle with maintaining my own healthy relationship with food.
Hence, the "penultimate 20-something"- one who published a book of poetry at age 18 begging the world to listen when she said she wasn't okay, who began reaching out to fashion companies at 16 just because she wanted a head start. I am nothing if not diligent, motivated, and always doing my best. The world of multimedia is one of the best places to be because of its flexibility. I have been afforded the opportunity to work under some of the advertising industry's most prominent figures while simultaneously working on research in some of the most top notch cancer genomics laboratories. I am exploring, in the same way I travel. Things I enjoy? Taylor Swift and Gracie Abrams, Vogue, driving around with the windows down, the color orange, football, Dior, Monet, the south of France, the Atlanta Braves, and green juice. Excited to work with you soon. |
